Druoda Sentient Missile

Druoda Sentient Missile is an Epic Forbidden Tech that slots onto a ship and sharpens Explorers fighting armadas. Its headline effect pushes Explorer Shield Piercing, Armor Piercing, and Accuracy against armada targets from 100% at unlock up to 1,200% at max, with isolytic damage and critical hit buffs layered behind it. Every effect is locked to Explorers hitting armadas, so this is a specialist piece rather than a general damage upgrade.

What Druoda Sentient Missile does

The piercing and accuracy buff is the reason to run this artifact. Shield Piercing and Armor Piercing cut through the mitigation an armada target stacks against you, and accuracy keeps your shots landing, so the same Explorer hull starts converting far more of its raw damage into actual hull loss on the target. The other three buffs sit on top of that and only turn on as you tier the piece up.

Buff Unlocks at tier Unlock value Max value
Explorer Isolytic Damage against armadas 1 5% 20%
Explorer Shield Piercing, Armor Piercing, and Accuracy against armadas 3 100% 1,200%
Explorer Critical Damage against armadas 6 50% 350%
Explorer Critical Hit Chance against armadas 8 8% 32%

Values are current as of the latest game data. In practice the four buffs compound: more of your hits land, more of them crit, each crit hits harder, and the isolytic portion adds damage the target cannot mitigate the usual way. That compounding is why the piece feels weak at low tiers, when only the isolytic buff is active, and disproportionately strong once tier 8 is behind you.

How to get Druoda Sentient Missile

Unlocking an Epic Forbidden Tech runs through the Forbidden Tech refinery. You need Epic Forbidden Fragments, which the game gives out through Q’s Trials and special rewards, and you spend them in the refinery to unlock the piece. Excess parts you pick up along the way convert into Forbidden Tech Credit Pieces, which you exchange for Forbidden Tech Credits back in the refinery.

Unlocking the artifact is only half of it. The slots it goes into on your ship are opened with Forbidden Tech Fusion Rods, and the same Fusion Rods are what you spend to pull a piece back off a ship later. Rods come from the Forbidden Tech refinery and the store. Plan the slot before you plan the piece, because an unlocked artifact sitting outside a slot does nothing.

Upgrading Druoda Sentient Missile

Two separate tracks move this piece forward. Tier-ups raise the level cap and switch on the later buffs at the tiers listed above, running from tier 1 up to tier 12. Levels then scale the values inside whatever buffs are already unlocked, from level 1 to level 60. Tier first to turn effects on, then level to make them hurt.

Ebene Level cap Kosten
1 5 No cost (starting tier)
7 35 32 Forbidden Tech Reactor, 9,900 Forbidden Tech Tier-Up Catalyst
12 60 32 Forbidden Tech Reactor, 11,500 Forbidden Tech Tier-Up Catalyst

Taking the piece all the way to tier 12 costs 352 Forbidden Tech Reactor and 161,550 Forbidden Tech Tier-Up Catalyst in total. Levelling from 2 to 60 costs another 1,856 Forbidden Tech Reactor and 1,305,350 Forbidden Tech Protomatter. Reactors are what you spend to attempt an upgrade, and they come from Daily Goals and the store, while Protomatter comes from Q’s Trials and the store. Probability Devices raise your chances on an upgrade attempt if you have them saved up.

Best ships and uses for Druoda Sentient Missile

This one goes on an Explorer, and only on an Explorer you actually bring to Armadas. The buffs read zero in every other fight, so slotting it on a hostile grinder or a PvP ship wastes both the slot and the Fusion Rods you spent opening it. If your armada crew already flies an Explorer, this is close to a free upgrade to that setup. If it flies a Battleship or an Interceptor, look elsewhere first.

Druoda Sentient Missile in Star Trek

The Druoda missile comes from the Star Trek: Voyager episode “Warhead.” Voyager picks up a distress signal from a crashed object on a remote moon and beams aboard what turns out to be a Druoda Series 5 long-range tactical armor unit: a weapon of mass destruction carrying bio-neural circuitry and, by then, something close to a personality. The Doctor spends the episode talking with it after it takes over the ship’s systems, trying to convince a machine built for one purpose that it has a choice about carrying that purpose out. It eventually does choose, and detonates away from the ship. The in-game flavor text reads the artifact the same way, as a thinking weapon with one terrible function.

Is Druoda Sentient Missile worth it?

If armadas are part of your weekly routine and you fly an Explorer into them, this is worth chasing and worth pushing past tier 8, where the crit buffs come online. Below that tier the piece is doing very little. If you rarely run armadas, or your armada ship is not an Explorer, spend your fragments and rods on something your fleet uses every day instead.
