The Excavation of Cita Laga

The Excavation of Cita Laga is a one-step mining mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. The people of Cita Laga need a large amount of Tritanium, and your job is to mine 1,000 of it. The mission is picked up in Cita Laga, needs warp 11 to start and complete, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. The reward is 5,000 Parsteel. There is no fighting, so any mining ship with the range can clear it.

The Excavation of Cita Laga objectives

The story line asks you to mine a huge amount of Tritanium for the people of Cita Laga. There is one objective and no choice split:

  • Mine 1,000 Tritanium.

The objective does not name a system, and no hostile or donation is involved. The mission completes once 1,000 Tritanium has been mined.

Wo und welcher Warp

The pickup system is Cita Laga, and the mission needs warp 11 both to start and to finish. That makes it one of the lower-warp Missionen, reachable early on.

The recommended level is listed as 1. The real requirements are warp 11 and a ship that can mine Tritanium.

The Excavation of Cita Laga rewards

The only reward is 5,000 Parsteel. The mission does not unlock a follow-up.

How it compares with other Tritanium mining missions

Several early missions ask for nothing but a Tritanium mining run. Current game data lists them like this:

Mission Pickup Warp Tritanium to mine Belohnungen
The Tritanium Mine Risa 5 100 2,500 Parsteel, 1 Encryption Key
Malurisches Tritanium Maluria 5 100 2,400 Parsteel, 1 Encryption Key, 2 K'Bisch shards
Depriving The Enemy Tellun 5 100 2,400 Parsteel, 1 Encryption Key, 2 Domitia shards
Plausible Abdeckung Yridia 5 100 2,400 Parsteel, 1 Encryption Key, 2 Helvia shards
Hausgemachtes Tritanium Zaurak, Elona 11 900 4,000 Parsteel, 3 K’Bisch shards
The Excavation of Cita Laga Cita Laga 11 1,000 5.000 Parsteel

Cita Laga asks for the most Tritanium of the group and pays the most Parsteel. It is also the only one with no officer shards or Encryption Key on top. Per unit mined it pays less: five Parsteel for each Tritanium, against 24 or 25 on the 100-unit missions, so treat it as a bonus for mining you would do anyway. The listed recommended levels for the others run from 7 to 13, while Cita Laga shows 1.

Home Grown Tritanium is its closest match. It needs the same warp 11, asks for 100 less Tritanium, pays 1,000 less Parsteel and adds three K’Bisch shards. If you are at warp 11 anyway, the two make an easy pair.

Tips

Send a survey ship. Mining is what survey hulls are built for, and there is no combat to worry about.

Mine in a quiet spot. A 1,000 Tritanium haul takes longer than the 100-unit missions, so pick a node away from busy traffic if your area has players who attack miners.

Put the 5,000 Parsteel into station upgrades, where early Parsteel goes furthest. Tritanium itself has its own resource guide, and other missions are on the Missionsleitfaden.
