Break A Leg is a five-part mission chain with the crew of the Protector. It starts when Gwen asks you to stop Jason Nesmith from doing anything too stupid, and it turns into a rescue after Nesmith loses Alexander Dane to a Nausicaan gang over a game of dom-jot. All five parts are recommended for level 60. The chain begins in Belmont, Part 1 needs warp 205, and Parts 2 to 5 each need warp 600. The headline reward is Sir Alexander Dane: 4 shards whichever choices you make. Three parts have choice splits, and the last one has the chain’s toughest fights.

Tips for completing Break A Leg
Parts 2 to 5 all need warp 600, so the chain is mostly long trips once Part 1 is done. Keep the same long-range ship on it rather than switching between parts.
The choices change the difficulty more than the Dane shards, which you get either way. In Part 1, helping Nesmith cheat costs 40M Dilithium and skips the Warlord fight. In Part 5, letting the show go on costs 45M Dilithium and skips two fights listed at about 3.53 billion and 4.03 billion strength, the hardest in the chain. If your ship struggles above 3 billion, the Dilithium paths are the easy way through.
Part 3 has no easy option: both paths include a fight at about 3.37 billion strength. The Klingon path also needs 200M Tritanium afterwards, while the Romulan path pays more Latinum and 6★ Raw Gas.
Expect three hostile sweeps along the way: 14 hostiles in Part 2, 9 in Part 4 and 16 in Part 5, all level 59 or higher. None of them lists a system.
Are the Break A Leg rewards worth it?
Yes, if you want Sir Alexander Dane. The chain gives 4 of his shards on any path, along with large 6★ material drops in Part 2, Latinum in Parts 3 and 4, and a spread of Σ-resources and Ultra Recruit Tokens. The warp 600 travel is the main cost, and the Dilithium choices let you avoid the hardest fights. For other level 60 missions, see the STFC mission guide.
