Astronautics Studio 73 is a level 73 station mission in Star Trek Fleet Command with one objective: upgrade the Astronautics Studio to level 73. It needs only warp 1 to start and to finish. The reward is 513,000 Σ-Parsteel, 1,334,000 7★ Raw Ore and 34 15 Minute Σ-Speed Ups, and completing it unlocks the next mission in the station chain. The payout is a small refund on a very large upgrade, but you collect it for building something you would build anyway.
Astronautics Studio 73 objectives
There is a single objective and no choice split:
- Upgrade Astronautics Studio to level 73.
No system is named, no hostile is listed and nothing is donated. The mission completes the moment the Astronautics Studio reaches level 73.
Where and what warp
Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system, since the whole mission happens at your station. The recommended level is 73.
Astronautics Studio 73 rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Σ-Parsteel | 513,000 |
| 7★ Raw Ore | 1,334,000 |
| 15 Minute Σ-Speed Up | 34 |
Finishing the mission also unlocks the next part of the station mission chain.
What Astronautics Studio level 73 costs
The upgrade is where the effort goes. Rounded, the listed cost and requirements for level 73 are:
| Astronautics Studio level 73 | Listed value |
|---|---|
| Σ-Parsteel | about 1.75 billion |
| Σ-Tritanium | about 18.4 million |
| 7★ Uncommon Refined Crystal | about 504,000 |
| 7★ Uncommon Refined Ore | about 499,000 |
| Requirements | Science Lab 72, Engine Technology Lab 72, Foundry 72 |
| Listed build time | 1,014 days |
Level 73 is unusual for this building. Most Astronautics Studio levels around it ask for Operations and R&D Department at the same level, but 73 asks for three other level 72 buildings instead. The 513,000 Σ-Parsteel in the reward covers only a sliver of the 1.75 billion cost.
Astronautics Studio 73 and 78 compared
The same building has a second mission later on. Here is how the two line up, along with nearby station missions:
| Mission | Recommended level | Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Astronautics Studio 73 | 73 | 513,000 Σ-Parsteel, 1,334,000 7★ Raw Ore, 34 15 Minute Σ-Speed Up |
| Astronautics Studio 78 | 78 | 261,000 Σ-Tritanium, 3,459,000 7★ Raw Crystal, 60 30 Minute Σ-Repair Speed Up |
| Scrapyard 72 | 72 | 428,000 Σ-Parsteel, 1,209,000 7★ Raw Gas, 4 12 Hour Assignment Speed Up |
| R&D Department 74 | 74 | 126,000 Σ-Tritanium, 1,584,000 7★ Raw Ore, 35 15 Minute Σ-Speed Up |
| Defense Technologies 74 | 74 | 615,000 Σ-Parsteel, 1,584,000 7★ Raw Crystal, 100 15 Minute Σ-Repair Speed Up |
Astronautics Studio 78 pays far more raw resources, while level 73 shares with R&D Department 74 the rare payout of plain Σ-Speed Ups rather than repair or assignment ones.
Tips
Line up the three requirements first. Science Lab, Engine Technology Lab and Foundry all have to be at level 72 before the upgrade starts.
The 34 Σ-Speed Ups add up to eight and a half hours, which will not dent a 1,014 day build, so treat them as a small bonus. Σ-Parsteel and Σ-Tritanium sources are covered on the Σ resources page, and other building missions are grouped under research building missions.
