Advanced Temporal Mechanics

Advanced Temporal Mechanics is a three-part mission chain about sending the crew of the U.S.S. Athena home. The Doctor works out how Deidamia’s programmable antimatter torpedo pulled the Athena into your galaxy, you build a torpedo of your own, and then you stop Deidamia from stealing it. All three parts are recommended for level 61 and start at warp 1, with warp 900 to 1,000 needed to complete. The finale lets you decide Deidamia’s fate, and that choice picks your officer reward: shards of Chancellor Ake or Deidamia.

Advanced Temporal Mechanics at a glance

Part Recommended level Warp to complete Key reward
Advanced Temporal Mechanics Part 1 61 900 5,000 Σ-Parsteel, 1 Academy Field Pass
Advanced Temporal Mechanics Part 2 61 1,000 1,400 Σ-Tritanium, 44,000 6★ Broken Interceptor Parts
Advanced Temporal Mechanics Part 3 61 900 3x Chancellor Ake or 3x Deidamia shards

Every part starts at warp 1, and completing one part opens the next.

Advanced Temporal Mechanics Part 1

The story line is to investigate the anomaly. The Doctor’s working theory is that a torpedo hit at the moment the Athena went to warp created a temporo-dimensional well, so you scan Solas Astra and pay for a torpedo that could reverse it.

  • Proceed to the Science Lab.
  • Proceed to Solas Astra.
  • Scan the system, in Solas Astra.
  • Return to your Station.
  • Donate 1,000 Σ-Tritanium to create the torpedo.

Warp to complete: 900. Rewards: 5,000 Σ-Parsteel, 49,000 6★ Broken Survey Parts, 200 6★ Common Refined Ore, 1 Academy Field Pass.

Advanced Temporal Mechanics Part 2

This part is about preventing a last-minute attempt at sabotage. Deidamia escapes your Station with the torpedo, and you have to fight through drones in Itraneia and catch her in Tegawa.

  • Discuss the plan.
  • Run Deidamia down, in Itraneia.
  • Defeat 10 hostiles of level 61 or higher in Itraneia.
  • Find Deidamia, in Tegawa.
  • Disable Deidamia’s shields, in Tegawa (enemy strength ~2,632,999,787).
  • Retrieve the torpedo, in Tegawa.

Warp to complete: 1,000. Rewards: 1,400 Σ-Tritanium, 44,000 6★ Broken Interceptor Parts, 180 6★ Common Refined Gas.

Advanced Temporal Mechanics Part 3

Finally you help the U.S.S. Athena crew get home. At the launch point in Solas Astra you decide what happens to Deidamia before firing the torpedo.

  • Proceed to the coordinates, in Solas Astra.
  • Decide what to do with Deidamia.

Both paths have the same objectives and the same fight. Only the officer shards differ.

Keep her here

  • Say your goodbyes, in Solas Astra.
  • Get into position, in Solas Astra.
  • Fire the torpedo, in Solas Astra (enemy strength ~2,618,077,029).
  • Return to your Station.

Rewards: 800 Σ-Dilithium, 250 6★ Common Refined Crystal, 3x Chancellor Ake (shards).

Send her back

  • Say your goodbyes, in Solas Astra.
  • Get into position, in Solas Astra.
  • Fire the torpedo, in Solas Astra (enemy strength ~2,618,077,029).
  • Return to your Station.

Rewards: 800 Σ-Dilithium, 250 6★ Common Refined Crystal, 3x Deidamia (shards).

Warp to complete: 900.

Tips for completing Advanced Temporal Mechanics

This chain has some of the longest trips at level 61. Parts 1 and 3 need warp 900 and Part 2 needs warp 1,000, so confirm your ship’s range before you start.

Keep 1,000 Σ-Tritanium ready for the end of Part 1. Part 2 then pays back 1,400 Σ-Tritanium, so the cost is recovered one part later.

Part 2 is the combat-heavy one: ten hostiles of level 61 or higher in Itraneia, then Deidamia’s shields at roughly 2,632,999,787 strength in Tegawa. Repair before you head to Tegawa. Part 3 has one more fight at about 2.6 billion strength when you fire the torpedo.

Choose the Part 3 path by officer. Keeping Deidamia in your galaxy gives Chancellor Ake shards, and sending her back gives Deidamia shards.

Are the Advanced Temporal Mechanics rewards worth it?

Yes, if you want Chancellor Ake or Deidamia. The 3 officer shards are the main draw, and the chain also pays 5,000 Σ-Parsteel, 1,400 Σ-Tritanium, 800 Σ-Dilithium, an Academy Field Pass and 93,000 6★ Broken Survey and Interceptor Parts. The costs are long warp trips, 1,000 Σ-Tritanium and a handful of 2.6 billion strength fights. For other level 61 chains, see the STFC mission guide.
