A Long Way From Home is a five-part Star Trek Fleet Command mission chain in which you help Ahvix recover the pieces of a crashed ship, from the crash site to a black market, an Exchange auction and finally the buyer’s base. Every part is recommended for level 28 with warp 24 to complete, and the chain begins at Leone. Rewards include 1,445,000 Parsteel, 30 Latinum, 3★ Uncommon refined materials, a Relocation Token and, on one branch, 1,000 Klingon Recruit Tokens. It is a short Rogue-space chain with two real choices and a solid payout for its level.

You meet Ahvix in Leone and set out to find where their ship came down. A round of hostile kills stands between you and the crash site.

Parts of Ahvix’s ship have been picked up by scavengers. You track them through two Rogue systems, with a fight in each.

The rare parts you need turn up for sale on the black market in Tombstone. Once you approach the seller, the crew asks whether to buy the parts or just take them.

The last pieces are headed for an auction at Exchange Beta. You first have to deal with a ship trader to get in, then decide whether to outbid everyone or track the winner.

Tips for completing A Long Way From Home
All five parts need warp 24, and the chain moves through several Rogue systems (Leone, Valance, D0D-G and Tombstone) plus Exchange Beta and The Principium. Check your range before you start so no single part leaves you short.
The named fights all sit between about 133,000 and 155,000 enemy strength. The heaviest are the scavenger in Part 2 and the guard in Part 5, both around 154,890. Part 5 has two fights back to back in The Principium, so repair before you head in.
Plan your Dilithium around the two choices. Buying the parts in Part 3 costs 150,000 Dilithium, and the high bid in Part 4 costs 180,000. Taking both paid options costs 330,000 Dilithium. Taking both free options costs nothing but adds the seller fight in Part 3.
The choices trade different rewards. In Part 3 the Latinum is the same either way, and only the refined material changes (Crystal for buying, Ore for stealing). In Part 4, the high bid pays refined Gas and Crystal and adds a fight with Misix, while the tracker route skips the Dilithium and the fight and pays 1,000 Klingon Recruit Tokens plus two 1 Day Speed Ups. Are the A Long Way From Home rewards worth it?
Yes for a level 28 commander. The chain pays 1,445,000 Parsteel, 30 Latinum, a Relocation Token and a steady stream of 3★ Uncommon refined materials, and the tracker branch in Part 4 adds 1,000 Klingon Recruit Tokens and two days of speed-ups. The fights are modest for the level. The main costs are warp 24 travel on every part and, if you pick the paid options, up to 330,000 Dilithium.
