Taktik der Stärke

Strongarm Tactics is a Harry Mudd story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you chase down Mudd before he can finish his plan. The game lists a recommended level of 40. It opens at warp 1 but needs warp 56 to complete, because the trail runs through Nikola and Haakona. The main workload is 13 kills against hostiles of level 41 or higher. The reward is 100 3★ Ungewöhnlich Refined Gas and 200 Premium Recruit Tokens, a fair payout for a mission that is mostly hostile grinding.

Strongarm Tactics objectives

There are four objectives and no choice split:

  • Find Mudd’s old base. Location: Nikola.
  • Track the energy signature. Location: Haakona.
  • Defeat 13 hostiles of level 41 or higher.
  • Return to your Station with the Daten.

The first two steps are travel. You find Mudd’s old base in Nikola, then follow an energy signature to Haakona. Neither has a scripted fight.

The third objective is the long one. No system is named for it, so any hostile of level 41 or higher counts, wherever you find it. Once all 13 are down, you take the data back to your station and the mission completes.

Wo und welcher Warp

No pickup system is listed. The mission is available from warp 1, but warp 56 is needed to complete it, which covers the trips to Nikola and Haakona.

The recommended level is 40. The hostile objective asks for level 41 or higher targets, one step above that recommendation, so a ship that farms level 41 hostiles comfortably is the practical requirement.

Strongarm Tactics rewards

Strongarm Tactics at other levels

Strongarm Tactics is offered in 4 versions, at recommended levels 3, 12, 27 and 40. The story is the same in each, but the objectives, systems, warp and rewards change with the version. The walkthrough above covers the level 40 version.

Recommended level Systeme Warp to complete Belohnungen
3 No set system 1 100 Officer XP, 20 Ship XP
12 Zaurak, Nelve 11 180 Dilithium, 900 Tritanium
27 Francihk, Lykien 13 500 3★ Interceptor Parts, 21,000 Dilithium, 16 15 Minute Repair Speed Up
40 (this page) Nikola, Haakona 56 100 3★ Uncommon Refined Gas, 200 Premium Recruit Token

Breaking down the work

Most of the time in this mission goes into the 13 kills. The two travel objectives are one-way trips, and the return to your station is a recall. That makes the hostile count the part worth planning around.

Because the hostiles only need to be level 41 or higher, you can farm them near Nikola or Haakona while you are already out there, or anywhere else in range. Level 41 targets cost less repair time than higher ones and count the same.

The travel route is where the warp 56 requirement comes in. If Nikola or Haakona is out of range, the mission stalls at the first or second step, even if your ship could handle the hostiles.

Tips

Kill hostiles on the way. Do the two travel objectives first, then take the 13 kills in the same area before heading home, so you are not flying back out again.

Bring a ship that can repeat fights without long repairs. Thirteen battles add up, and a ship that barely wins each one will spend more time docked than fighting.

The 200 Premium Recruit Tokens are the more useful reward for most players, since they go toward officer recruitment. The refined gas feeds building and research costs that need 3★ materials.
