The Vi’Dar Talios is a grade 4 Epic Interceptor from the Independent faction, and it exists for one job: killing Borg. Its Collective Severance ability stacks a huge damage bonus onto every hit against Borg hostiles, which turns an otherwise mid-grade hull into a specialist that punches far above its tier against the Collective. You build it at Shipyard level 35. If you fight Borg content, it earns its slot.

How to get the Vi’Dar Talios

Building the Vi’Dar Talios takes 100 blueprints and a Shipyard at level 35. Once you have the blueprints, the build cost is 3,840 3★ Common Refined Crystal, 24,150,000 Tritanium, 2,025,000 Dilithium, and 1,320 3★ Common Refined Gas, and the build runs 34 days and 12 hours. The game data does not tie the blueprints to a single store or event, so plan around whatever source is active when you go for it rather than counting on one channel.

Vi’Dar Talios ability

The ship’s ability is Collective Severance. It increases the Vi’Dar Talios’s damage against Borg hostiles by 35,000% at ship level 1, climbing to 45,700% at level 60. Like all ship abilities, it is always active with nothing to trigger. This bonus is the whole reason to build the ship: against Borg targets it hits like a far higher-grade vessel, and against anything that is not Borg the bonus does nothing, so keep it pointed at the Collective. The ability keys off the Borg hostile type, so it applies to Borg targets you meet in open space, from probes up through the tougher Borg ships. That makes the Vi’Dar Talios a grinding tool as much as a combat ship, because it clears Borg targets faster when a node or an event asks for a lot of them.

Stats and tiers

These are base values from the current game data; research, buffs and officers raise them in play.

Tier Warp (speed / range) Impulse Cargo (protected) Shield HP Hull HP Health (displayed)
Tier 1 4.3 / 45 125 600,000 (45,000) 29,500 26,900 28,200
Tier 6 4.8 / 95 125 1,255,000 (92,000) 212,500 89,600 151,050
Tier 12 5.4 / 150 125 2,860,000 (160,000) 2,465,000 1,422,000 1,943,500

Two things stand out at tier 12. The shield pool is far larger than the hull pool, so the Vi’Dar Talios takes hits on its shields first and rewards shield mitigation over armor. Warp range reaches 150, enough to move between the systems where Borg content sits without constant refueling.

Weapons and firing pattern

Warm-up is the round a weapon first fires; cool-down is how many rounds pass between shots after that. Values below are at max tier 12.

Weapon Type Shots Warm-up Cool-down Damage Crit chance Crit damage
Weapon 1 Energy 1 1 1 82,400–115,000 25% 150%
Weapon 2 Kinetic 1 2 1 165,000–206,250 15% 150%
Weapon 3 Kinetic 2 3 3 259,000–323,750 10% 175%

The loadout is kinetic-heavy: two of the three weapons are kinetic, including the hardest-hitting slot, a two-shot gun that first fires on round three. The energy weapon opens the fight on round one, so the early rounds lean on it while the big kinetic guns spin up. Against Borg the Collective Severance bonus rides on top of all three weapons, so tiering the ship up scales every gun at once.

Crew slots and officer bonus

The Vi’Dar Talios opens officer seats as it levels up.

30 4

The ship also boosts your officers’ stats, stepping up a ladder as it progresses. On the Vi’Dar Talios the attack, defense and health bonuses are identical at each step, so the ladder below applies to all three.

1,500 50%
3,000 100%
4,875 150%
6,750 200%
9,000 250%

Vi’Dar Talios refits

The Vi’Dar Talios carries the Enigma refit, which leans into its anti-Borg role. It increases the Inert Nanoprobes you pull from Borg Probes and opens a refinery option that converts those Inert Nanoprobes into Charged Nanoprobes. If you farm Borg Probes for nanoprobe currency, the refit compounds what the ship already does best.

Crew for the Vi’Dar Talios

Crew the Vi’Dar Talios around its strength, which is damage against Borg. Because Collective Severance already multiplies hull damage, the bridge wants officers that raise your weapon output and keep the ship alive through Borg return fire, not mining or utility officers. The best specific picks shift with the meta, so check the current Officer Tier List and build the two bridge seats to feed whatever captain ability you run. As a rule for this ship, a captain that boosts weapon damage or piercing plus two officers that protect against the Borg’s incoming fire will carry most Borg fights.

The Vi’Dar Talios in Star Trek

The Vi’Dar Talios is a design original to Star Trek Fleet Command, not a ship from any series or film. In the game’s story it is the successor to the original Vi’Dar, built during the Borg incursion into the Alpha Quadrant. The lore frames it as a Romulan Star Empire project meant to take the fight to the Collective directly, a sharper weapon aimed at an enemy the Romulans first tried to understand before they tried to destroy it. Its job in the game matches that story: a purpose-built Borg hunter.

Is the Vi’Dar Talios worth it?

For its grade band the Vi’Dar Talios is a specialist, not an all-rounder. If your account engages Borg content, the Collective Severance bonus makes it one of the most efficient tools you can bring, and the Enigma refit adds a nanoprobe-farming angle on top. If you never touch Borg hostiles, a general-purpose grade 4 will serve you better day to day. Chase it when Borg fighting is on your roadmap.
