The D3 Class is an Uncommon Grade 3 Klingon Interceptor, a light attack ship built for speed and hit-and-run damage rather than staying power. It unlocks at Shipyard level 26 and leans on a weapon-damage ability that bites hardest against Romulan targets. For a mid-tier Klingon player it is a cheap, fast interceptor that earns its keep against Romulan hostiles and, later on, as a scrap feeder.
How to get the D3 Class
Building the D3 Class takes 80 blueprints and a Shipyard at level 26. Once you have the blueprints, the build cost is 500 3★ Common Refined Crystal, 1,150,000 Tritanium and 38,500 Dilithium, and the build itself runs 12 days and 22 hours. The game data does not tie the blueprints to a specific store or event, so treat the requirement and cost as the fixed part and check current in-game sources for where the prints are available at any given time.
D3 Class ability
The D3 Class ship ability is Romulan Crusher. It increases the ship’s weapon damage against Romulan ships, and like all ship abilities it stays active for free. The bonus scales with ship level, starting at 30% at level 1 and reaching 120% at level 45. In play that makes the D3 a targeted answer to Romulan hostiles and Romulan-crewed ships, where its light kinetic cannons hit well above their base numbers.
D3 Class active ability
The D3 also carries Ship Cloaking, a player-triggered ability rather than an always-on one. When you activate it the ship is cloaked, and the cloak drops the moment its duration runs out or you enter combat, begin mining, or dock at a station. Cloaking is switched on through a refit, covered below. Use it to slip a fragile interceptor across contested space or to sit hidden until you choose your fight.
Stats and tiers
These are base values from the current game data; research, buffs and officers raise them in play.
| Tier | Warp (speed / range) | Impulse | Cargo (protected) | Shield HP | Hull HP | Health (displayed) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2.5 / 24 | 115 | 10,000 (230) | 5,460 | 5,460 | 5,460 |
| 5 | 2.9 / 33 | 115 | 22,970 (280) | 5,460 | 5,460 | 5,460 |
| 9 | 3.3 / 50 | 115 | 60,000 (450) | 5,460 | 5,460 | 5,460 |
Warp speed and range climb steadily from tier 1 to tier 9 while the ship’s health stays flat, which matches its job: get in, hit hard, and get out rather than trade blows.
Weapons and firing pattern
Warm-up is the combat round a weapon first fires; cool-down is the number of rounds between shots after that. At max tier the D3 runs two kinetic cannons, the light guns its Romulan Crusher ability boosts.
| Weapon | Type | Shots | Warm-up | Cool-down | Damage | Crit chance | Crit damage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weapon 1 | Kinetic | 2 | 1 | 2 | 11,756–14,369 | 15% | 110% |
| Weapon 2 | Kinetic | 2 | 2 | 2 | 11,756–14,369 | 15% | 110% |
Crew slots and officer bonus
The D3 opens officer slots as it levels, reaching a full bridge of five at ship level 40.
| Ship level | Officer slots |
|---|---|
| 5 | 1 |
| 10 | 2 |
| 20 | 3 |
| 30 | 4 |
| 40 | 5 |
The ship also boosts your officers’ own stats as it progresses. Its attack, defense and health bonuses all follow the same ladder, so one column covers all three:
| Amount | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 120 | 30% |
| 240 | 60% |
| 390 | 90% |
| 540 | 120% |
| 720 | 150% |
| 960 | 180% |
| 1,320 | 210% |
| 1,800 | 240% |
| 2,400 | 270% |
| 3,600 | 300% |
D3 Class refits
Two refits change what the D3 can do, each costing shards to unlock.
| Refit | What it does |
|---|---|
| D3 Cloaking | Enables the Ship Cloaking ability for the D3. Costs 60 shards to unlock. |
| D3 Relentless Assault | Unlocks Relentless Assault, which raises the ship’s base damage against Hostiles and Armadas, reaching 2000% at the D3’s max tier of 9. Requires a level 26 Armory and 60 shards. |
Crew for the D3 Class
The D3 is a weapon-damage interceptor, so crew it around raising attack and critical hits rather than survivability. Because its ship ability keys on damage against Romulan targets, it pays off most on Romulan hostile grinds, where a captain who boosts weapon damage or crit chance stacks cleanly with Romulan Crusher. Its cannons fire in short bursts, so officers that add crit chance or crit damage get the most out of each volley. For current best-in-slot picks, see the Officer Tier List, and keep in mind that crew choices shift as new officers arrive and the meta moves.

The D3 Class in Star Trek
The D3 is largely a Star Trek Fleet Command design that fills in the early history of Klingon warships. In the game’s backstory it served the Klingon Imperial Defense Force as an escort and bombardment vessel into the 2150s, then was reclassified as an interceptor and used as a forward scout. Its “D” designation places it at the start of the lineage of Klingon cruisers whose best-known member, the D7 battle cruiser, became the Empire’s signature warship in the Original Series era. The D3 stands in as one of the oldest and lightest rungs on that ladder, a fast raider armed with the disruptor-style cannons Klingon ships are known for.

Unleashing The D3 Class! How Her Weapons Work, What Crews To Use & If It’s Worth The Price
Is the D3 Class worth it?
For a Grade 3 ship the D3 has a clear job: chewing through Romulan hostiles thanks to Romulan Crusher, and scouting or repositioning under cloak. It will not tank, and higher-grade ships outclass it quickly, so treat it as a stepping stone rather than a keeper. It stays useful as a scrap feeder once you pass Operations level 34. Build it if you are grinding Romulan space in the mid-game and want a cheap, fast hull for the job.
