Multi-lingual from a young age, Uhura had a fascination with language and communication. She was fluent in Swahili by the time she could walk and had an aptitude for mathematics before she started school.
No-one was surprised when this prodigy enlisted in Starfleet.
Uhura quickly made a name for herself as someone intelligent, reliable and extremely capable. She was assigned to the USS Enterprise as its department head of the communications section and was directly responsible for communications aboard Starfleet’s flagship vessel.
