USS Newton Battleship

The U.S.S. Newton is a grade 4 Rare Federation Battleship that unlocks at Shipyard level 46. Its always-on Confiscate Evidence ability pulls extra resources out of every hostile you destroy, which makes it a mid-game farming battleship rather than a PvP bruiser or a miner. A mix of energy and kinetic weapons plus solid battleship health lets it grind hostiles and Solo Armadas for loot while it earns its keep.

How to get the U.S.S. Newton

Building the Newton takes 350 blueprints and a Shipyard at level 46, along with the ship’s own unlock research completed. The build cost is 100,000,000 Tritanium, 3,800,000 Dilithium, 8,000 4★ Common Refined Ore, and 2,800 4★ Common Refined Crystal, and the build runs for 200 days. Once you reach Operations level 55 the Newton becomes scrappable, so it can feed later grade 4 projects when you outgrow it.

U.S.S. Newton ability

The Newton’s ship ability is Confiscate Evidence, and it is always active. It gives the ship more resources from hostiles, starting at 10% at level 1 and climbing to 120% at level 60. Because the bonus applies to what hostiles drop, every kill returns more loot as you level the hull, which is the reason to fly the Newton on a farming route in the first place. The scaling also rewards leveling the ship before you lean on it, since the early bonus is modest and the payoff grows steeply toward the top of the range.

U.S.S. Newton active ability

The Newton also has a player-triggered ability, Relentless Assault, that increases weapon damage against Hostiles and Armadas. You activate it in battle and it runs on a cooldown that shortens as the ship tiers up. Paired with Confiscate Evidence, it leans the ship further into clearing hostiles and Solo Armadas quickly. Relentless Assault is not available by default; you unlock it through a refit, covered below.

Stats and tiers

These are base values from the current game data; research, buffs, and your officers raise them in play.

Tier Warp (speed / range) Impulse Cargo (protected) Shield HP Hull HP Health (displayed)
Tier 1 3.5 / 140 72 60,000 (1,000) 355,936 413,959 384,948
Tier 6 4 / 190 72 84,000 (2,100) 485,252 622,188 553,720
Tier 12 4.6 / 225 72 145,000 (6,500) 737,034 1,000,000 868,517

Weapons and firing pattern

Warm-up is the round a weapon first fires; cool-down is the number of rounds between shots after that. At max tier the Newton carries three energy weapons and one heavier kinetic weapon, so it can press damage through both shields and armor.

Weapon Type Shots Warm-up Cool-down Damage Crit chance Crit damage
Weapon 1 Energy 2 1 2 63,840–76,605 10% 150%
Weapon 2 Energy 2 1 2 63,840–76,605 10% 150%

U.S.S. Newton refits

The Newton has three refits that change how it fights and what it costs to run.

Refit What it does
Newton Relentless Assault Unlocks the Relentless Assault active ability. Requires a level 46 Armory and 80 shards.
Apex U.S.S. Newton Costs 120 shards. Gives 500 Apex Barrier when the Newton fights hostiles (not Armadas). Apex Barrier is true damage mitigation applied after all other bonuses; every 100 Apex Barrier lets the ship take 1% more damage.
Hijacked TOS U.S.S. Newton Class Costs 80 shards. Raises the Newton’s base Weapon Damage by 500% and the base cost efficiency of Newton parts, materials, and resources by 200%.

Crew for the U.S.S. Newton

As a hostile-farming Battleship, the Newton wants a bridge that raises weapon damage against hostiles and keeps the ship alive through long grinding sessions, not mining officers. Because Confiscate Evidence and Relentless Assault both key off fighting hostiles and Armadas, a captain built around damage and survivability earns the most here. For current officer picks, see the Officer Tier List, and remember the best crew shifts with the meta.

The U.S.S. Newton in Star Trek

The Newton class is a Kelvin-timeline Starfleet design rather than a ship with a long screen history. Its name honors Sir Isaac Newton, the seventeenth-century human scientist. In the game’s story the original U.S.S. Newton was destroyed at the Battle of Vulcan by Nero’s mining vessel, the Narada, the same attack that wiped out much of the Starfleet armada sent to answer Vulcan’s distress call. Starfleet kept building the class afterward to hold the line as fighting with the Romulans and Klingons escalated, which is how it reaches your fleet.

Is the U.S.S. Newton worth it?

For a grade 4 Rare hull, the Newton is a specialist: its value is in farming hostiles faster, not in PvP or mining. If you are grinding hostiles or Solo Armadas for resources in the mid game, the resource bonus and Relentless Assault make each run pay more, and the Hijacked refit pushes its damage further still. Players chasing PvP power or dedicated mining runs will get more from other grade 4 hulls, so treat the Newton as a resource-grinding tool rather than an all-purpose ship. Once you pass Operations 55 it also scraps for parts, so it stays useful even after you move on to bigger battleships.
