Mission Boiling Point

Boiling Point is a Star Trek Fleet Command mission that drops you into the middle of a standoff between the Tholians and the Breen. It opens with a distress call in the Nott system and reaches out to warp 20 before you close it. The mission is short, but it ends on a real decision: back the Breen, back the Tholians, or refuse to take a side. Each answer sends you after a different target and pays a different reward.

Boiling Point objectives

The opening is the same for everyone. You answer the distress signal at Nott, then the mission asks whose side you will take. From that point the objectives branch.

  • Respond to the distress signal at Nott.
  • Decide whose side you are on: the Breen, the Tholians, or neither.

Here is how each choice plays out.

Side with the Breen

  • Disable the Tholian ship at Nott. It sits at roughly 74,100 strength.
  • Return to your station.

Side with the Tholians

  • Disable the Breen ship at Nott. It sits at roughly 73,260 strength.
  • Return to your station.

Stay neutral

  • Return to your station without firing on either ship.

Siding with one faction means attacking the other. Choosing the Breen puts you against the Tholian ship; choosing the Tholians puts you against the Breen ship. Staying neutral skips the fight completely.

Where and what warp

The whole mission plays out in Nott, a low-level neutral system. It starts at warp 1, but the mission counts as reaching warp 20 before it wraps, so plan your travel around that distance if you are running it alongside other errands out that way.

Boiling Point rewards

The reward you walk away with depends entirely on the side you pick.

Choice Reward
Side with the Breen 452,000 Parsteel and 4 × 3★ Uncommon Refined Crystal
Side with the Tholians 127,000 Tritanium and 7 × 3★ Uncommon Refined Gas
Stay neutral 4 × 3★ Uncommon Refined Ore and 3 × 1 Day Speed Up

Read that table by what you are short on. The Breen path is the one to take for refined crystal and a large parsteel top-up. The Tholian path hands you refined gas and tritanium. The neutral path is the only one that pays refined ore, and it adds three one-day speedups without asking you to fire a shot.

Tips

Both combat paths put you against a ship in the 73,000 to 74,100 range, so bring a build that can clear that cleanly before you commit to a side. If your ship is not ready for that fight, the neutral route still pays out and asks nothing of your fleet.

Let the reward decide the choice. Match the side to the material you actually need: the Breen for refined crystal, the Tholians for refined gas, or neither for refined ore and speedups. The speedups on the neutral path hold their value at any stage of the game, which makes staying out of the fight a solid pick when the resources do not move the needle for you.

Boiling Point sits in a run of neutral-zone missions. It follows A Devil on Your Shoulder and leads into The Bicker, The Better, so finishing it keeps that chain moving.
