Strange Bedfellows is a Discovery storyline mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you try to make an alliance with the Klingon Empire. It is offered in four versions, recommended for levels 5, 14, 27 and 40, with the same four objectives each time. The level 5 version runs entirely at warp 1 and pays 2 15 Minute Repair Speed Ups. The higher versions send you across named systems, up to warp 61, and pay far more, topping out at 9,901,000 Parsteel.
Strange Bedfellows objectives
Every version has the same four objectives in a fixed order and no choice split. At level 5 none of them names a system:
- Meet with Azetbur.
- Meet with the Independent.
- Meet with the Starfleet agent.
- Prepare for the assault.
The mission is a round of meetings. You speak with Azetbur for the Klingon side, then with an Independent contact and a Starfleet agent, and the last step gets you in position for the assault that follows. There are no fights and nothing to donate in any version.
Where and what warp
The level 5 version starts and finishes at warp 1, so it stays close to home. That changes with the higher versions, where each meeting happens in a different system and the warp to complete rises from 13 to 61. The table below lists every system.
The four versions carry recommended levels of 5, 14, 27 and 40. With no combat in any of them, the warp to complete is the real requirement for each one.
Strange Bedfellows rewards
At level 5 the reward is 2 15 Minute Repair Speed Ups. Completing the mission unlocks the next one in the story, Signal Interrupted.
Strange Bedfellows at other levels
The objectives do not change between versions, but the meeting places do. At level 14 you visit Krah’Hor, Nausicaa, Lorillia and Labac. At level 27 the route is Khitomer, Kepler-018, Hann and Netron Alpha. At level 40 it is Mina, Tovla, Vendor and Ferrer.

The jump from level 27 to level 40 is steep in both directions. Warp goes from 20 to 61, and the Parsteel reward goes from 408,000 to almost 10 million.
Tips
Bring a fast ship rather than a combat ship. There is nothing to fight in any version, so the only cost is travel time between four stops.
Check the warp before you start the level 40 version. Warp 61 is a long way out, and four separate meetings means four legs of travel before the mission clears.
The level 14 version is the only one that pays Recruit Tokens, and the level 40 version is the only one with refined crystal.
