Strike Three is a mission in Star Trek Fleet Command’s Discovery storyline in which you hunt down the third Herald. You find it, defeat L’Rana and Norath, escape an ambush and patch up the Discovery’s impulse engines with 200 Parsteel. The version covered here needs only warp 1 to start and complete and lists a recommended level of 5, with enemies of about 473 and 709 strength. The reward is 20 1★ Explorer Parts and 50 Ship XP, and finishing it unlocks Strange Bedfellows.

Strike Three objectives

The story line is short: defeat the third Herald. There are five objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:

  • Find the third Herald.
  • Defeat L’Rana. Enemy strength is roughly 473.
  • Defeat Norath. Enemy strength is roughly 709.
  • Escape the ambush.
  • Repair the Discovery’s impulse engines with 200 Parsteel.

No system is named for any step. The two named fights come back to back, Norath being the tougher of the pair, and the mission closes with a small Parsteel payment for the repairs.

Where and what warp

Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. The recommended level is 5, and the enemies at about 473 and 709 strength match that early stage of the game.

The game has more than one mission named Strike Three; the recommended level 5 version is the one with the objectives above.

Strike Three rewards

Completing the mission also unlocks the next mission, Strange Bedfellows.

Strike Three is offered in 4 versions, at recommended levels 5, 13, 27 and 40. The story is the same in each, but the objectives, systems, warp and rewards change with the version. The walkthrough above covers the level 5 version.

The Herald missions

The Herald hunt runs across several missions. Current game data lists them like this:

Mission Recommended level Warp to complete Named fights Rewards
Strike One… 26 20 Klingon guard and the first Herald in Izanami (about 133,020 and 154,890) 373,000 Parsteel, 11,000 Dilithium, 10,000 Ship XP, 4 3★ Uncommon Refined Crystal
Strike Two… 40 30 The Herald’s guard and the second Herald in Andoria (about 3,358,989 and 912,580) 38,366,000 Parsteel, 1,129,000 Dilithium, 800 Premium Recruit Tokens
Strike Three 5 1 L’Rana and Norath (about 473 and 709) 20 1★ Explorer Parts, 50 Ship XP
Signal Interrupted 14 11 A Klingon Invader in Vindemiatrix (about 9,597), then a choice of who to save Depends on the choice

The listed levels jump around a lot between these missions, so check each one’s recommended level and enemy strength rather than assuming they climb in order. Signal Interrupted is the assault on the final Herald.

Tips

Keep 200 Parsteel on hand. The mission cannot finish until the Discovery’s engines are repaired, and that step comes last.

Use a combat ship for the two fights. Norath is about 50% stronger than L’Rana, so do not start the second fight badly damaged.

The USS Discovery is also a playable ship in the game. The full storyline is on the Discovery arc page, and other missions are on the mission guide.
