Archive: Captain Quark is a level 17 story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command, part of the Strange New Worlds arc. It opens near Majalan at warp 1 and takes you out to warp 12, where the combat plays out in the Labac system against T’Nar and Vurtas. Both endings hand you two Quark officer shards; the rest of the payout depends on the choice you make at the finish. It is a short mission with a useful shard reward, so it is worth clearing if you are building Quark. Within the arc, it follows Silver Screen Part 2 and leads into Archive: The Battle of Oltomon.
Archive Captain Quark objectives
The mission runs in a fixed order, then branches into a single choice that changes your reward but not the fights. The steps are:
- Meet with the Enterprise in Majalan.
- Pick up the captain in Majalan.
- Investigate the disturbance in Labac.
- Answer the prompt: how should we resolve the situation?
- Defeat T’Nar in Labac (enemy strength around 16,207).
- Defeat Vurtas in Labac (enemy strength around 16,758).
- End the simulation.
Whichever side you pick, you still defeat both T’Nar and Vurtas. The choice only decides which reward package you receive at the end, so there is no combat you can skip by choosing one path over the other.
Where and what warp
Archive: Captain Quark starts near Majalan at warp 1 and needs warp 12 to complete, so plan around that range before you set out. The recommended level is OPS 17. This is an Archive mission, which means it does not appear as a mission you accept directly at a station in a system; it triggers through the arc sequence instead of from a system node. Both required fights sit in Labac, so once you reach that system you can finish the combat back to back.
Archive Captain Quark rewards
The final prompt splits into two choices. Both grant two Quark shards; only the resources differ:
| Choice | Rewards |
|---|---|
| T’Nar should have the rights | 2x Quark shards, 2,500 Dilithium, 1x 8 Hour Speed Up, 13x 30 Minute Repair Speed Up |
| Vurtas should have the rights | 2x Quark shards, 300 Latinum, 32,000 Parsteel, 20x 15 Minute Repair Speed Up |
Since both paths award the same two Quark shards, the decision comes down to which resources you need more: Dilithium and a longer speedup on the T’Nar side, or Parsteel and Latinum on the Vurtas side.
Tips
Both branches force two kills in Labac, at roughly 16,200 and 16,800 power, so bring a ship and crew that can clear hostiles in that range and survive two fights close together. Check that your ship can reach warp 12 before you start, or refuel first, so you are not stuck partway to the mission. If you are farming Quark, remember both choices give the identical two shards, so decide the branch purely on resources. Take the T’Nar path for Dilithium and repair time; take the Vurtas path for Parsteel and Latinum. Latinum in particular is worth weighing, since it is harder to come by than Parsteel at this stage of the game.
