A Gentle Push In The Right Direction is a Romulan story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. You pose as a liaison to the Föderation and lead a Starfleet force into a trap, fighting three ships along the way. - Defeat the USS Riverbrooke. Location: Ajilon. Enemy strength is roughly 73,260.

The mission has two halves. First you deal with a scout in Sorenle, then you switch to the liaison act, meeting the Federation ships in Voss and escorting them to Ajilon. Once they arrive, the trap springs and you fight two Starfleet ships back to back. The USS Riverbrooke is the strongest target in the mission at about 73,260, so the hardest fight is the last one before you head home to Valdore Outpost in Draken.

Completing the mission unlocks the next part of the Romulan line, Too Successful. The Federation Points line is a loss, which is expected when you are ambushing Starfleet ships.

All three pay 2,000 Romulan Points and cost 1,200 Federation Points, so running the line steadily moves you toward the Romulans.
Tips
Bring a proper combat ship and top up its hull before the Ajilon leg. The Yellowstone and Riverbrooke come one after the other, and there is no scripted return to your station between them.
Repair after the scout if you need to. The Sorenle fight comes early, and the Voss and Ajilon travel steps give you a natural pause before the two harder battles.
Use the repair speed ups right away. Thirty-five 5 minute speed ups add up to nearly three hours of repair time, which is handy after the Starfleet fights.
If you are trying to stay on good terms with the Federation, check your standing first. This mission and its neighbours all subtract Federation Points.
