An eccentric geologist needs help with her latest discovery, so you collect diamond samples from two systems and bring them home. It can be picked up in Imgra or Fostaa, and warp 5 covers both the start and the finish. There is no fight. The reward is 1 <a href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/lucia-gonzales\/\">Lucia Gonzales<\/a> shard, which makes it an easy officer-shard pickup for early players.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Diamonds_in_the_Rough_objectives\"><\/span>Diamonds in the Rough objectives<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are three objectives, in order, with no choice split:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Find a sample of the diamonds in Whinnul. Location: <a href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/whinnul-9-neutral\/\">Whinnul<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Find a sample of the diamonds in Grenfil. Location: <a href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/grenfil-9-neutral\/\">Grenfil<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Bringen Sie die Proben zu Ihrer Station zur\u00fcck.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Every step is travel. You fly to Whinnul for the first sample, on to Grenfil for the second, then return to your station to hand them over. Nothing needs to be mined, donated or destroyed.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Where_and_what_warp\"><\/span>Wo und welcher Warp<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The mission can be accepted in either of two systems, <a href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/imgra-10-neutral\/\">Imgra<\/a> oder <a href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/fostaa-10-neutral\/\">Fostaa<\/a>. Warp 5 is listed both to start and to complete, so a ship that reaches either pickup system can reach Whinnul and Grenfil too. The recommended level is 10.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Diamonds_in_the_Rough_rewards\"><\/span>Diamonds in the Rough rewards<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Completing the mission pays 1 Lucia Gonzales shard. It does not unlock a follow-up part.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tips\"><\/span>Tips<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Send any ship. There is no combat and no mining, so even your weakest ship can finish the whole mission. Save your combat ship for something that needs it.<\/p>\n<p>Pick up the mission in whichever of Imgra or Fostaa is closer to you. Both work the same way, and the objectives that follow are identical.<\/p>\n<p>Fly the samples in order. Whinnul comes first and Grenfil second, then you head home. Planning the route as one loop keeps travel time down.<\/p>\n<p>The reward is a single officer shard, so the mission is worth running mainly if you are collecting Lucia Gonzales. Because it costs nothing but travel time, there is little reason to leave it in your log.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Other_early_shard_missions\"><\/span>Other early shard missions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you are picking up officer shards from easy missions around this level, <a href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/plausibel-decken\/\">Plausible Abdeckung<\/a> is a close match. It is recommended for level 8, also finishes at warp 5, and pays 2 <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/helvia\/\"   title=\"Offizier Helvia\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"11095\">Helvia<\/a> shards plus 2,400 Parsteel and an Encryption Key for mining 100 Tritanium, and it is picked up in Yridia. Diamonds in the Rough asks for travel instead of mining and pays one shard.
