The specialist job is station offense. As captain, his Ruthless Mastermind ability can wipe most of the opposing station and platforms&#8217; mitigation for two rounds, opening a window where damage stops getting soaked.<\/p>\n<p>The supporting job is sitting on the bridge of a high-damage attacker. His officer ability, Savage Tenacity, stacks critical hit chance every time the ship gets hit, which suits fights that drag past a few rounds.<\/p>\n<p>He belongs to the Augment faction and the Khan&#8217;s Crew synergy group. His named synergy partners include Joachim, Marla McGivers, Otto, Kati, Navi, and Pan, all at 25% synergy with him.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Star_Trek_background\"><\/span>Star Trek background<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Khan Noonien Singh first appeared in the 1967 TOS episode Space Seed, played by Ricardo Montalban, then returned in 1982&#8217;s Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. He is a 20th-century Augment, a genetically engineered superhuman who, during the Eugenics Wars, controlled large parts of Earth before being driven off the planet in 1996. He and his followers slept through almost three centuries aboard the SS <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/botanik-bucht\/\"   title=\"Botany Bay Vermessungsschiff\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"476\">Botany Bay<\/a> before the USS Enterprise found them.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/spock\/\"   title=\"Offizier Spock\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"475\">Spock<\/a> once called Khan the most dangerous adversary the Enterprise ever faced. The Kelvin-timeline film Star Trek Into Darkness used the same character under the alias <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/john-harrison\/\"   title=\"Offizier John Harrison\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"471\">John Harrison<\/a>, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, and the 2025 audio drama Star Trek: Khan re-cast the role with Naveen Andrews.<\/p>\n<p>The lore card in STFC leans on the Kelvin-timeline version. The in-game flavor text describes Admiral Marcus reviving Khan from cryo, wiping his memories, and using him as a covert asset. Khan eventually broke free, killed Marcus, and turned on the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/foderation\/\"   title=\"F\u00f6derationsfraktion\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"477\">F\u00f6deration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Role_in_STFC\"><\/span>Role in STFC<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Khan is an Epic, Command-class officer in the Augment faction and the Khan&#8217;s Crew synergy group. The card has two distinct jobs, and most players use him for the first one before discovering the second.<\/p>\n<p>The first job is station offense. With Khan in the captain seat, attacking an enemy station gives him a 50% chance to drastically reduce the opposing station and its defense platforms&#8217; mitigation for two rounds. Mitigation absorbs a chunk of incoming damage at the top of every base hit, so stripping it lets the rest of your crew do their normal damage without the usual soak.<\/p>\n<p>The second job is bridge officer on an attacking ship. His ability stacks crit chance every round his ship gets hit, which suits long fights where you want each volley to land harder than the last.<\/p>\n<p>He is not a hostile-killer specialist or an economy officer. Outside of station hits and crit-building, there are usually stronger picks for the job.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Captain_ability_and_officer_ability\"><\/span>Captain ability and officer ability<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3>Ruthless Mastermind (captain)<\/h3>\n<p>When you attack a station with Khan as captain, his ability rolls a 50% chance at the start of combat to drastically reduce the mitigation of the opponent&#8217;s station and all of its defense platforms for two rounds. The roll happens once per attack, so plan around getting either the strip or no strip.<\/p>\n<p>The public <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/daten\/\"   title=\"Offiziersdaten\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"479\">Daten<\/a> sources publish per-rank numbers for this ability, but for Khan only the rank-1 value is reliable; the rank 2-5 entries are zeros or filler in the source data. In practice that means: the rank-1 strip is already big, ranking him up makes it bigger, and any specific rank-5 percentage you see floating around isn&#8217;t trustworthy. Play the ability for whether the 50% roll lands, not for a target damage number.<\/p>\n<h3>Savage Tenacity (officer)<\/h3>\n<p>Every time Khan&#8217;s ship takes a hit from a ship or defense platform, Khan adds to the ship&#8217;s crit hit chance. The bonus stacks across rounds. At rank 5 a long brawl can push crit chance high quickly, which is why he works best on ships that already crit hard.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Where_Khan_shines\"><\/span>Where Khan shines<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Three places he earns his slot.<\/p>\n<p>Hitting enemy stations. His captain ability is the headline reason to bring him. If you&#8217;re prepping a base hit and want a higher chance the damage lands, Khan in the captain seat is the obvious pick on <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/tag\/augment-ships\/\"   title=\"Schiffe verst\u00e4rken\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"478\">Augment ships<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Long combat. Savage Tenacity wants time to stack. Hostile grinding and PVP fights that stretch past a couple of rounds give him a chance to actually pile up crit chance. He is a worse fit for one-shot kills where the fight ends before the ability does anything.<\/p>\n<p>Augment-themed builds. The Khan&#8217;s Crew synergy group is mostly closed to other Augment <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/star-trek-fleet-command-officers\/\"   title=\"Star Trek Fleet Command Beamtinnen und Beamte\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"474\">Offiziere<\/a>, so a full Khan&#8217;s Crew bridge will outperform a mixed bridge when the captain seat is Khan. If you have the shards, his pairs make sense.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_get_Khan_Noonien_Singh\"><\/span>How to get Khan Noonien Singh<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Khan has historically lived in Augment-faction sourcing: the Augment Faction Store and Augment-themed mission lines. He has also rotated into officer chest events, Khan&#8217;s Challengers content for OPS 40+ players, and Officer Depot offers during Wrath of Khan content cycles. Specific availability shifts. Check the current store rotations, the in-game event schedule, and Recruit Token offers before committing real currency to him.<\/p>\n<p>Shard totals for reference: 110 shards to recruit at rank 1, another 110 to reach rank 2, 220 to reach rank 3, 330 to reach rank 4, and 880 to reach rank 5. That is 1,650 shards from first recruitment through max rank, with the rank-5 promotion costing more than every earlier rank combined.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Synergies_and_crew_building\"><\/span>Synergies and crew building<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Khan&#8217;s class-synergy bonus is Command 10%, Engineering 25%, and Science 25%. For PVP or long hostile fights where Savage Tenacity matters more than Ruthless Mastermind, Khan as a bridge officer under a crit-focused captain on a high-damage Interceptor or Battleship is a reasonable use.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Khan_character_traits\"><\/span>Khan character traits<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Khan carries three traits in the trait XP tree, and they unlock in order: Augment first, Criminal second, Mastermind last. You can&#8217;t start the next trait until the previous one is finished. The last few levels run into tens of thousands of officer XP each, with the final one north of 100,000. If you&#8217;re not already farming officer XP at scale, treat full Mastermind as a long-term project rather than a near-term goal.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Frequently_asked_questions\"><\/span>Frequently asked questions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3>Is Khan Noonien Singh worth it in STFC?<\/h3>\n<p>For station hits and for crit-stacking on long fights, yes. He is a specialist, though, so if your main need is hostile killing, mining defense, or armadas, other officers do those jobs better. If you hit bases or build crit-heavy attackers, Khan is one of the cleaner Epic-rarity options for the role.<\/p>\n<h3>Where do you get Khan shards?<\/h3>\n<p>The reliable answer over the life of the game has been the Augment Faction Store and Augment-themed <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/missionsleitfaden\/\"   title=\"Star Trek Fleet Command Dienstreisen\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"473\">Missionen<\/a>, with periodic appearances in officer chests, Khan&#8217;s Challengers content, and Officer Depot rotations. Look in the in-game store and current events first. If neither shows him, he is between rotations and will come back.<\/p>\n<h3>What ship is Khan best on?<\/h3>\n<p>Anything with Augment or Khan&#8217;s Crew synergy ramps the bonuses, so Botany Bay (when you have it) and Augment-class ships are obvious. For Savage Tenacity stacking, he also fits on any high-damage ship you plan to hold in combat for several rounds.<\/p>\n<h3>Is Khan worth ranking up to five?<\/h3>\n<p>The shard cost is heavy, especially the rank-5 jump (880 shards into that single promotion). If you use him as a captain for station hits, ranking up matters more, since higher ranks improve Ruthless Mastermind even if the exposed per-rank numbers aren&#8217;t reliable. If you use him only as a bridge officer for Savage Tenacity, the crit-chance gain per rank is small in absolute terms and you can stop earlier and feel fine.<\/p>\n<p>Khan is a fit for a player who base-hits regularly or who likes building crit-stacking attackers. He is not the right first Epic for a new captain still working on faction reputation or basic combat fundamentals.
