Stare Into the Abyss is a level 67 Romulan mission in Star Trek Fleet Command, picked up in Milagriean. A Romulan research leader sends you to the edge of the Void in the Talokan system, where the researcher Tibithus is trapped and his ship is being torn apart. It needs warp 1400 to start and to complete, asks for an 80B Parsteel donation, includes two fights, and pays 39,000 \u03a3-Parsteel, 16 1 Hour \u03a3-Speed Ups and Romulan reputation. The Parsteel cost is the big hurdle.<\/p>\n
There are six objectives and no choice split:<\/p>\n
Tibithus is the Empire’s leading Void researcher, and his Daten<\/a> could be vital. Quantum fluctuations break up his signal, so you move closer. His ship is being pulled apart by the gravity flux, and a tractor beam would do more harm, so your crew builds a counterweight of equal mass from 80B Parsteel<\/a> instead.<\/p>\n As Tibithus pulls free, a cultist’s ship fires on him and pushes him back toward the Void. That ship is listed at about 7.5 billion strength. By the time it falls, Tibithus’s mind has been affected, and he turns his weapons on you rather than abandon ship; his vessel is listed at about 9.16 billion. You disable it, beam him aboard, and take him back to Milagriean. He keeps insisting that the Void sings.<\/p>\n Pick the mission up in Milagriean, fly to Talokan for everything except the delivery, then return to Milagriean.
