Its main buff raises base weapon damage against computer-controlled targets, from 150% when it first unlocks up to 2,500% at max tier and level. Higher tiers add ship health, Apex Barrier, and Isolytic Damage. It suits players grinding hostiles and story content with a high-grade FKR ship.

What the [PRO] Transwarp Computer does

This piece carries four buffs that switch on as you tier it up, and every one of them applies only while it is installed on a Grade 5 or higher FKR ship in PvE. The primary buff is a large increase to base weapon damage, which makes the computer an offense pick rather than a utility one. The other three unlock at later tiers and add survivability and end-game damage.

Buff

Unlocks at tier

Unlock value

Max value

Base Damage in PvE

1

150%

2,500%

Ship health (SHP)

3

250%

4,000%

Apex Barrier vs non-Armada PvE hostiles

6

200

3,200

Isolytic Damage in PvE

8

3%

30%

In play, the damage and health buffs make a G5+ FKR ship hit far harder and last far longer against hostiles and armada-free PvE, while the Apex Barrier and Isolytic Damage buffs matter most in the high-level content where those systems come into play. One caveat sits in the data itself: the Apex Barrier buff does not apply when Tal is assigned to the bridge, so pair the computer with a different captain if you want that shield.

How to get the [PRO] Transwarp Computer

Forbidden Tech is unlocked and upgraded through the Forbidden Tech refinery and its currencies, not from a shipyard or research tree. To unlock an Epic piece like this one you spend Epic Forbidden Fragments in the refinery. Before you can equip it you also need Forbidden Tech Fusion Rods, which open the Forbidden Tech slots on your ship and are what you spend to remove a piece later. Fragments and rods come from the refinery, Q’s Trials, the store, and special rewards, per the game’s own descriptions. No fixed drop or event is promised in the data, so treat availability as tied to whatever Forbidden Tech sources are live for you.

Upgrading the [PRO] Transwarp Computer

Two separate tracks raise this artifact. Tiering up costs catalysts, raises the level cap, and unlocks the later buffs at the tiers shown above; leveling up costs protomatter and scales each active buff’s value toward its max. It runs to tier 12 and level 60. Tier-ups also draw on Forbidden Tech Reactors and Probability Devices, which the game uses to attempt and improve upgrade chances.

Tier

Level cap

Cost

1

5

Starting tier, no cost

7

35

4,000 Rare Prototype Tech Tier-Up Catalyst

12

60

4,125 Epic Prototype Tech Tier-Up Catalyst

Reaching max tier costs 24,800 Rare Prototype Tech Tier-Up Catalyst and 9,075 Epic Prototype Tech Tier-Up Catalyst in total. Because the buffs require a Grade 5 or higher FKR ship, it is an end-game item: hold it for the ship you are actually pushing into high-level hostiles. If you spend a lot of time farming hostiles, our hostile guide covers the targets where the damage and Apex Barrier buffs earn their keep. Keep Tal off that bridge if you are relying on the Apex Barrier buff.

The [PRO] Transwarp Computer in Star Trek

The transwarp computer draws straight from Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. Starfleet’s “Great Experiment,” the prototype U.S.S. Excelsior, was fitted with a transwarp drive meant to leap past standard warp factors, and it needed a computer powerful enough to run the calculations that drive demanded. In the film the Excelsior’s transwarp launch fails on its first real test because Montgomery Scott has quietly pulled several components, stranding the ship while the Enterprise slips away. The game’s flavor mirrors that story: an over-engineered system undone by the removal of three small parts. The [PRO] tag marks it as Prototype Tech within the Forbidden Tech system.

Is the [PRO] Transwarp Computer worth it?

For a player with a Grade 5 or higher FKR ship who lives in PvE, this is a strong Epic to chase, since the base damage and health buffs alone reshape how that ship performs against hostiles. Newer players get little from it, because the buffs need a high-grade FKR ship to do anything at all. If you are deep enough to use it, tier it to at least 6 to open the Apex Barrier buff, then level it as your protomatter allows.

The [PRO] Transwarp Computer is an Epic Forbidden Tech in STFC that boosts PvE damage and health on G5+ FKR ships.
