It starts and finishes at warp 1, the game lists a recommended level of 1, and nothing is fought or flown. The reward is 750 <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/tritanium\/\"   title=\"Tritanium\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"16727\">Tritanium<\/a> and two 3 Minute Repair Speed Ups, and completing it unlocks Upgrade <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/werft\/\"   title=\"Shipyard\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"15168\">Shipyard<\/a>: Level 12. It is also the first R&amp;D step to need a <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/dilithium\/\"   title=\"Dilithium\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"15171\">Dilithium<\/a> Warehouse, which is the part most players have to plan around.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Upgrade_R_D_Department_to_Level_12_objectives\"><\/span>Upgrade R&amp;D Department to Level 12 objectives<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The story line explains that the R&amp;D Department unlocks additional upgrades for the Shipyard and Ships. There is a single objective and no choice split:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Upgrade R&amp;D Department to Level 12.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No system is named, no hostile is listed and nothing is donated. The mission completes when the <a href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/rd-abteilung\/\">F&amp;E-Abteilung<\/a> finishes its level 12 upgrade.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Where_and_what_warp\"><\/span>Wo und welcher Warp<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. It pays 125 Tritanium less than level 11, and its speed ups total six minutes against seven for level 11. Level 13 then more than doubles the Tritanium.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tips\"><\/span>Tips<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Check the Dilithium Warehouse before you start. If it is below level 10, that upgrade has to come first. The Operations and Academy requirements follow the usual level-for-level pattern.<\/p>\n<p>Keep the <a href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/akademie\/\">Akademie<\/a> in step. R&amp;D 12 needs Academy 12, the same pattern as every early R&amp;D level.<\/p>\n<p>Save some Dilithium. The R&amp;D costs start asking for it from level 11, and level 13 wants 72.
