The goal is to test your skills against hostiles of escalating difficulty, and the only objective is to defeat one hostile of level 5 or higher. It needs only warp 1 to start and finish, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. The Rookie step pays a shard and some Dilithium for one kill, and the Soldier step adds Officer XP for three.<\/p>\n<p>The numbers grow quickly as the series goes on. By Combat Training 9 the Rookie step pays 160 Dilithium, and by Combat Training 11 it pays 320.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tips\"><\/span>Tips<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Clear it while doing anything else. The objective names no system, so the kill can come from whatever hostile you are already fighting, as long as it is level 5 or higher. Check the level before you attack, since a lower-level kill will not count.<\/p>\n<p>Use the Dilithium sparingly. Early amounts like 24 are small, but Dilithium is needed for many early upgrades and it comes in slowly at this stage.<\/p>\n<p>Keep collecting the Riker shards.
