Obviate Interceptors is an endgame Combat research in Star Trek Fleet Command, unlocked once your R&D Department reaches level 50. It raises all of your ships’ base mitigation stats against hostile interceptors, starting at 10% and reaching 75% at level 10. If you grind interceptor-class hostiles at Ops 50 and above, this is one of the strongest survivability lines in the tree; the damage you never take is repair cost you never pay.<\/p>\n

<\/span>What Obviate Interceptors does<\/span><\/h2>\n

Mitigation is the set of defensive stats (armor, shield deflection, and dodge) that decides how much of an incoming hit your ship absorbs. Obviate Interceptors raises your base mitigation stats specifically against hostile interceptors, so every ship you send at interceptor hostiles takes less damage per round. It does nothing in PvP and nothing against explorer or battleship hostiles; its sister projects cover those.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Unlock requirements<\/span><\/h2>\n

The project unlocks at R&D Department level 50, and every level has its own R&D Department gate and research prerequisites, listed per level in the table above. Since the R&D Department cannot outlevel your Betrieb<\/a>, the level 10 gate of R&D 60 puts this squarely in Ops 60 territory to finish. The pattern to notice: the requirements walk you through the whole “Pregnable, Exposed, Obviate” defensive block, so in practice you climb those lines together rather than rushing this one project.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Cost and research time<\/span><\/h2>\n

Per-level costs are in the table above. Maxing all 10 levels totals about 444.9B Tritanium, 1.6T Dilithium, 231K 5\u2605 Common Refined Gas, 89.8K 5\u2605 Uncommon Refined Gas, and 19.2K 5\u2605 Rare Refined Gas. The base research time across all levels adds up to roughly 57 years, which sounds absurd until you remember research speed bonuses: with endgame Geb\u00e4ude<\/a>, officers, and boosts running, real timers are a small fraction of the base number. Treat the base time as a gauge of how the levels compare, not a real clock.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Is Obviate Interceptors worth it?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Yes, if you fight interceptor hostiles regularly. At 75%, the mitigation swing is large enough to change what your grinder can farm comfortably, and cheaper hostile grinding compounds into everything else you do daily. Take level 1 as soon as the prerequisites allow, then push levels alongside your Ops climb.
