Her captain ability rewards fighting from cloak, and her officer ability slowly strips an enemy&#8217;s ability to land critical hits in player versus player combat.<\/p>\n<p>If you run a cloak-capable ship and spend time in PvP, she is worth a close look. She does little for mining, hostile grinding, or station defense, where her crit-focused kit sits idle.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Star_Trek_background\"><\/span>Star Trek background<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Sela comes from Star Trek: The Next Generation. She is the half-human, half-Romulan daughter of <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/tasha-yar\/\"   title=\"Polizistin Tasha Yar\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1655\">Tasha Yar<\/a>, the Enterprise-D security chief, by way of an alternate timeline. When the Enterprise-C slipped through a temporal rift, Yar was captured by the Romulans, and a Romulan general spared the survivors on the condition that she become his consort. Sela was born about a year later, around 2345.<\/p>\n<p>By 2368 Sela had risen to Commander in the Romulan military. She spent her career trying to break the budding alliance between the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/foderation\/\"   title=\"F\u00f6derationsfraktion\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1100\">F\u00f6deration<\/a> and the Klingon Empire. She brainwashed <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/geordi-la-forge\/\"   title=\"Offizier Geordi La Forge\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1098\">Geordi La Forge<\/a> into an assassination attempt, backed the House of Duras during the Klingon Civil War, and later schemed to invade Vulcan using Spock&#8217;s reunification movement as cover. <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/jean-luc-picard\/\"   title=\"Offizier Jean-Luc Picard\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1099\">Picard<\/a> and Data foiled her each time.<\/p>\n<p>What drives her is the rejection of her human half. Raised inside a society that treated her mixed heritage as a weakness, she grew colder and more ruthless than the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/star-trek-fleet-command.1337wiki.com\/de\/star-trek-fleet-command-officers\/\"   title=\"Star Trek Fleet Command Beamtinnen und Beamte\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1097\">Offiziere<\/a> around her. That backstory lines up with her in-game role as a cloak-and-strike specialist who fights dirty.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Selas_role_in_STFC\"><\/span>Sela&#8217;s role in STFC<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Sela is a player-combat officer. Both of her abilities point at PvP, and one of them only works while your ship is cloaked. That makes her a natural fit for Romulan warbirds and other hulls that can cloak before a fight.<\/p>\n<p>She is not an economy or hostile-farming pick. Her value shows up when you attack or defend against another player and want your critical hits to land harder while cutting the chance the enemy lands theirs.<\/p>\n<p>Both of her tools lean on critical hits, so she pays off most on a build that already crits often. If your weapons and crew rarely roll crits, the captain damage boost has fewer hits to amplify and the enemy crit-chance reduction matters less. Think of her as a multiplier on a crit-leaning setup rather than a fix for one that lacks crit chance to begin with.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Captain_ability_and_officer_ability\"><\/span>Captain ability and officer ability<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3>Captain ability: Hit Them Where It Hurts<\/h3>\n<p>While Sela is captain and the ship is cloaked, she increases Critical Hit Damage. As of the latest data that boost is 50 percent at rank one. The underlying scaling for this ability is not reliable across ranks, so treat the rank-one figure as the number to plan around and expect the captain bonus to grow with promotions rather than reading exact higher-rank values.<\/p>\n<p>The catch is the cloak requirement. If your ship cannot cloak, the captain bonus does nothing, so seat her on a hull that can drop out of sight before the shooting starts.<\/p>\n<h3>Officer ability: Civilized Persistence<\/h3>\n<p>When you fight another player, Sela lowers the enemy&#8217;s Critical Hit Chance a little every time your ship scores a hit. The reduction adds up as the battle goes on, so longer fights wear down a crit-reliant opponent. Pick her when player combat is the point.<\/p>\n<p>Her timing matters too. Because the captain bonus only applies while cloaked, the strongest window is the opening exchange right after you decloak and fire, before the fight settles into a trade.
