The Amalgam is a Grade 3 Rare survey ship from the Independent faction, and it unlocks at Shipyard level 31. It is built to raid: its Combat Scavenger ability skims extra cargo off targets after a win, and a Cloaking refit lets it slip through hostile space unseen. If you want a mid-grade hull that turns station and supply-ship raids into resource hauls, the Amalgam earns its slot.<\/p>\n

<\/span>How to get the Amalgam<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Amalgam needs 100 blueprints, and you build it once your Shipyard reaches level 31. The build costs 15,500,000 Tritanium and 90,000 Dilithium, and it takes 21 days 12 hours to finish. The ship also has its own dedicated Raffinerie<\/a> for processing Amalgam Parts, which becomes available around the same shipyard level.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Amalgam ability<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Amalgam’s passive is Combat Scavenger, and like every ship ability it is always active. After the Amalgam wins a battle, if the target is holding more resources than the ship has free cargo space, the Amalgam fills its hold and then takes an additional slice of whatever is left over. It only triggers when the ship has empty cargo space before it attacks. The bonus is a small fraction of a percent, and it grows as the ship gains levels. The practical takeaway: raid with an empty hold so the ability has room to work and can grab that extra cut.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Amalgam active ability<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Amalgam also has a player-triggered ability, Ship Cloaking, that runs on a cooldown separate from the always-on Combat Scavenger. When you activate it the ship goes invisible. The cloak drops when its duration runs out, when you enter combat, when you start mining, or when you dock at a station. You unlock it through the ship’s Cloaking refit. Use it to cross contested space or set up a raid without broadcasting your position on the map.<\/p>\n

Cargo is where this hull stands out. By tier 9 it carries 1,500,000 total with 33,000 protected, which suits a ship whose whole job is hauling away what it takes.<\/p>\n

One weapon that fires every round keeps the Amalgam’s damage steady rather than spiky, which fits a ship you send after softer resource targets rather than into heavyweight brawls.<\/p>\n

The Amalgam is a game-original design rather than a ship from a Star Trek series or film, so its story comes from the game itself. In-universe it was first forged by the Pakleds, a species that appears in Star Trek: The Next Generation and is known for cobbling together technology it scavenges from others. The hull fuses Klingon, F\u00f6deration<\/a>, and Romulan components with salvage from across the quadrant, which is why it looks like nothing else in the game.
