It pays 56,000 Officer XP and a 1 Day Speed Up, and clearing it opens the next mission in the arc.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Along_Came_A_Spider_objectives\"><\/span>Along Came A Spider objectives<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Four objectives, in this order, with no choice split anywhere in the mission.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Respond to the Starfleet red alert. Location: Angosia.<\/li>\n<li>Defeat the mysterious ship. Location: Angosia. Enemy strength is roughly 74,100.<\/li>\n<li>Bring Senise to the Origin Sector. Location: Nott.<\/li>\n<li>Kehren Sie zu Ihrer Station zur\u00fcck.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Only the second objective is a fight. Check your warp range before you pick the mission up. If your best ship tops out under 20, you can win the fight in Angosia and then stall on the escort until warp research catches up.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Along_Came_A_Spider_rewards\"><\/span>Along Came A Spider rewards<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The mission pays 56,000 Officer XP and one 1 Day Speed Up. Finishing it also moves you along the chain and unlocks A Devil on Your Shoulder.<\/p>\n<p>The Officer XP is the part worth planning around. 56,000 arrives as one lump instead of the slow drip you get from hostile grinding, so it is enough to push an officer up several levels the moment you spend it.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tips\"><\/span>Tips<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Sort your warp research out before you start. Warp 20 is the real requirement and nothing in the early objectives warns you about it, since the red alert sits one warp jump from your base. Players who take the mission on the strength of that first number end up parked on the third objective.<\/p>\n<p>Repair before you engage. At roughly 74,100 strength the mysterious ship is a real fight for a crew working through the Origin Sector arc, and going in with a damaged hull is the usual way this one goes wrong. There is no second combat step afterward, so you can commit everything to that single engagement.<\/p>\n<p>Treat the Nott leg as one round trip. The escort and the return to station are two separate objectives, but they are the same journey out and back. Repair and load up before you leave Federation space rather than turning around mid-run.<\/p>\n<p>Have a target for the XP in mind.
